Soirée Collection : Released June 2025
Have you ever had the experience of thinking faster than you can write? Like, maybe you’re journaling and the words are pouring out of your mind trying to make their way onto paper and you’re trying to keep up. Your handwriting starts turning to scribbles and phrases get shortened into abbreviations that still somehow make sense.
That’s how this painting collection came together.
I’ve been sitting on so many ideas and saved reference photos, knowing deep down that I might never get to them all if I kept painting in my usual, detail-heavy way. While I do love that style, I started to realize I was sometimes choosing it just because it felt like the “right” way to paint. When those thoughts start to sneak in, I take it as a cue to make a shift.
After finishing the first piece, something clicked. I felt a jolt of excitement—like I’d finally found a rhythm that matched the energy of my ideas. I started moving quickly and freely through my inspiration photos, painting in a way that felt like a graceful dance across each canvas. For the first time, I was creating at the same pace I was thinking. And it felt really good.
Florals have always been a deep source of inspiration for me. Lately, I’ve been craving a more intuitive way to capture what I love most about them—not just their detail, but their colors and sculptural forms. So I stripped things back: fewer brushstrokes, simpler compositions, and a stronger focus on color.
As a result, this collection became really about playing with color through the lens of floral arrangements - thoughtfully composed of blooms and stems that come together to create a soft, inviting sculpture in a lovely color palette.
At its peak, an arragement only holds its perfect balance of color and form, but only for a short time. I like to think of it like a soirée: something that’s intentionally curated and planned, fully beautiful in the moment, but joyfully temporary. That’s the idea I’m celebrating in these paintings.
Enjoy!
